Edit: Someone from another store got the position and I’m grateful for it because I don’t have to worry about more added responsibility. Kind of glad I didn’t get it.
So, I heard back--there are four candidates that are vying for the SOM or Front End Department Head position including someone from my own but I might have a chance because I was still under consideration because it means more money, and responsibility and they asked that of me and I told them that I am ready for it. And that I am more confident about it. On top of finding out that I am still a candidate, I got a fifty cent raise, so I’m making 16.50 which is better for us and if I get the SOM position–More money for us! Us, meaning my husband and I.
Been takin the medicine for my ulcer and so far, I’m feeling a bit better though I did get to have lunch at Dino’s Subs with my bestie Ashley who was back from Seattle for a bit. She’s a traveling nurse and always comes back to visit home and me plus a few others. We’ve been best friends since childhood and she’s always been so no nonsense about things but I love her so much. She’s great. She makes me think about my wonderful childhood since her grandmother lived next to my grandparents and that’s how we met. Strange how we continued being friends when a lot of people left me and whatnot, luckily I don’t have to worry about anything anymore, because she’s loyal. And she understands me more than most people which is me being grateful for. When you know someone that long, you start to understand them and appreciate them unlike a lot of other people.
And to speak on another subject: why I have hot pink hair and there’s only one answer: Gwen Stefani from the early 2000s——
Growing up with MTV was something else as a young child. You couldn’t imagine how it was with MTV being a place for music and music videos. It isn’t like what it is now, unfortunately. I wish things were simple again for us and somehow, it could be back to the old days but alas, it can’t ever with time marching forward and whatnot. Either way, to me, she was everything as a young kid in the early 2000s.
Plus, the song and album are all bangers. Can’t go wrong with any of it either, though I can’t say what happened to her now in the year of 2025, because she’ll always be with the one that inspired my dream of having pink hair and for that, I am forever grateful. Forever happy that I could achieve that dream of mine. One of them anyhow.
Shame on the job but I’m glad you’re happy with how it turned out anyway. It’s always nice to have someone like that you know so well. Friends like that are so hard to find!
I vaguely remember the old MTV when they had more music videos and stuff. I know they had that when I was very young. I never paid much mind to it since I rarely watched them though.
