Sooooo I’ve been hypomanic so my doctor or rather my psychiatric nurse practitioner bumped up my mood stabilizer from 1 mg to 3 mg and it’s been helping. I’ve been in a contact good mood and it’s been destructive and it’s more than an elated mood but rather impulsivity and irritability and being able to stay asleep–trouble sleeping, racing thoughts and for me spending lots of money that we don’t necessarily have and it’s put a big strain on my relationship with my husband. So, we’ve been fighting more and more because of it but I quickly realized that something was wrong when talking to my NP and finally got my meds adjusted and seeing a therapist or clinical social worker that does CBT. I’m pretty much in remission for my BPD aka my Borderline Personality Disorder which I worked on a long time with. Anyhow, with that resolved, I’m ready to go back to work and I already have my new schedule.
Not looking forward to the closing shifts because so much has changed since I was gone for 6 weeks on my medical leave, but that’s what’s great with my job minus the pay is that they are highly flexible for a job and a retail one at that. The most flexible ever. So, everything is better with the hubs with the change of meds and back into therapy for me which I always need with someone I trust. Someone I like because my old one died when Kobe Bryant died at the same time so I was grieving then but this time….I rather like who I have now. He’s a great guy and actually we can talk and while being self aware, it’s easier to take my advice and get better. The previous one that I did see helped me a lot even if I wasn’t willing to work on it and I did. Anyhow, the week before I go back to work, I finally went to one wedding! My dearest first cousin’s wedding—his mother is my aunt, my dad’s sister so we grew up together and I hate now he’s older but then again, I’m proud of him finding happiness finally. And growing up to be a fine young man, just like my younger brother of 10 years. Close no matter the age gap. Funny how that all goes. We grow up so fast and we don’t reconcile the time that we had and have left; either way, I am 37 now, so there’s that.
