It finally happened-I got my partial hysterectomy and they did find a lot of lesions of endometriosis behind my uterus though the procedure itself was nearly 3 hours as they got rid of my cervix, uterus and the lesions, too. They explained it to my husband and my aunt which was great that they were there. I’ll be off of work until May 25 and from there I should be better though I still have a post op appointment 12 weeks afterwards. In the meantime, I’m not to lift anything, no sex, no bathing in the bathtubs and definitely move around a little bit as to get my bearings. I had the team of doctors, well the anesthesiologist saw me and since the doctor my surgeon too, had a spot open, I went in early for my procedure.
It took a bit for me to wake up like always but this time, I didn’t have any nausea nor vomiting which is great because the act itself is repulsive to me and I hate doing it even when I over eat and whatnot, and I did it last time when they opened me up laparoscopic meaning less invasive and just five to four slits/cuts on my stomach and belly button.

This is only day one of post op and I’m managing the pain with tylenol but I do have oxycontin and gabapentin and both, I’ve taken in the past and I don’t like how they put me to sleep. I hate how people with uteruses aren’t taken seriously until they’re legit dying or they’re running out of options. Thankfully this helped me. Since my surgery was a daytime surgery, I was able to go home at 4 pm after doing some milestones like peeing and holding down food and water, alas!! I slept a lot because of the anesthasia. It’s powerful stuff. Don’t knock it. I’m scared I won’t heal but I appreciate everyone’s moral support even had a pastor pray for me because the damage inside could have been much worse and maybe god or someone was looking after me.
I don’t know anymore. Either way, I do know that 6 weeks in a long time to recover from anything and I am getting paid short term disability for it. Thank goodness.
